PENDLETON, Ore. - The BMCC women's basketball team came into Wednesday evenings game with control of the 4th seed as they took on 5th seed Spokane at the MAC. A back and forth battle for much of the 1st quarter until the Wolves took control and never looked bad as they coasted to a 57-46 win. Leanna Lepe led all scorers once again with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. Taylor Bull added 13 points, 8 rebounds with Josie Wilson scoring 8 points with 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

The 1st quarter was back and forth as the Sasquatch and Wolves would battle for control and the lead until Avery Beatty hit a clutch 3-point shot to take the lead 9-8 with 6:06 remaining in the 1st. At that point, BMCC took off and never looked back taking the lead to 21-10 at the end of the quarter. Bull would add the first points of the quarter with a layup and Josie Wilson would go to add a couple free throws as BMCC continued to build on their lead. Kennedy McCorkle (16 pts, 3 reb) would lead Spokane in cutting the lead to 8 points at the 4:22 mark of the 2nd quarter before Lepe would sink a 3-pointer and take the lead back to 11. Wilson would add a layup and Lepe another 3 to take the Wolves back to a 13 point lead before Spokane would make the final bucket of the 2nd quarter to close the lead back to 11 as the Wolves would go into the locker room 34-23 at the half.

The back and forth contest would continue throughout the 3rd quarter and Spokane tried to chip away at the lead however BMCC had an answer for each point scored. Taylor Bull hit a big 3-point shot at the 5:14 mark in the quarter to increase the lead to 15. The Wolves would go on to hold onto that lead as they ended the 3rd quarter. BMCC would go on to steal the ball 5 times from the Sasquatch in the 4th quarter as they cruised the rest of the game to secure their third win of east division play.

The Wolves move to 3rd place in the east region at 3-1 and 7-8 overall. The BMCC women's basketball team will return to the floor Saturday as they take on Columbia Basin in Pasco. Tip off scheduled for 2pm with the men's basketball team starting at 4pm.
