Athletic Associations

BMCC has a well-rounded athletic program for both men and women. We understand that many students enjoy participating in organized athletics or watching athletic contests as a part of campus life. We offer basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and rodeo, and our teams have won many national and regional honors.

All athletics are within the office of Student & Enrollment Services. BMCC is a member of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Athletes, both male and female, interested in the college should write to the Athletic Department, BMCC, for additional information.

Athletic scholarships are offered at the discretion of the head coach. BMCC’s policies stipulate that students must be seeking a BMCC degree or certificate and be attending full-time to receive tuition scholarships. To continue receiving scholarships, students must complete 12 credits with at least a 2.0 GPA each term.

NWAC Sports

The Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges is comprised of 36 colleges that are divided into four Regions. Blue Mountain CC is in the Eastern Region along with Big Bend CC, Columbia Basin CC, CC of Spokane, Walla Walla CC, Wenatchee Valley CC, Yakima Valley CC and Treasure Valley CC.

 

National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association

Rodeo competition begins in October with students competing in 10 rodeos through May. Points are accumulated throughout the year to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) At the CNFR, contestants participate in 3 full go-rounds and one short round. Students who qualify have a chance to win national titles. Placing at the CNFR is the determining factor for national titles.
