BMCC Athletics Hall of Fame
Blue Mountain Community College is excited to launch and welcome, our first Hall of Fame class in department, and school history. Blue Mountain Community College has a rich and storied past of championships, good will, and success. With each year moving forward, BMCC Athletics will select a class of individual(s), team(s), coach(s) per year worthy of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Recipients will be listed on this website for all time recognition and inside the McCrae Athletic Center on the Hall of Fame board. Those chosen to join the Hall of Fame will be invited to be recognized and celebrated at the end of year awards ceremony called the Wolfies located on the campus of Blue Mountain Community College.
Review Criteria
The Hall of Fame Committee will review all nominations from this year and previous years by September 1st. Inductees for the new class will be notified and honored at the June Hall of Fame ceremony prior to the start of the Wolfies. Nominations are accepted year-round, however consideration for the upcoming class must have nomination forms sent in to the Hall of Fame Committee by September 1st of the year of the class is to be inducted. For example, nominations for the class of 2025 must have the form submitted by September 1st, 2024. Incomplete nomination forms will be removed. To nominate an individual, please click this link. Nomination Criteria
Nominations for the Hall of Fame should belong in one or more of the following categories:
Outstanding performance as a student athlete at Blue Mountain Community College for at least one year.
Outstanding performance as a team at Blue Mountain Community College.
Outstanding service to athletic program of Blue Mountain Community College as a coach or other areas of significant service.
Individual coaching career should be at minimum a length of three years.
Former student-athletes or coaches who have earned outstanding national or professional achievements outside of Blue Mountain Community College.
All Nominee's must:
Be of good character and reflect positively upon Blue Mountain Community College.
Have left Blue Mountain Community College in good standing and in the good graces of its officials, staff, and administration.
Coaches, and student-athlete nominations should be at minimum 5 years removed from competing at Blue Mountain Community College.
Teams should be at minimum 10 years removed from competing at Blue Mountain Community College.
Class of 2025 Hall of Fame
Dave Baty - Coach
Dave is one of the most successful volleyball coaches in the history of the NWAC. Dave would go on the win five NWAC championships in eight seasons, four of which were in a row. He was named all-tournament coach five times, named the NWAC volleyball coach of the year 3 times, and was the American Volleyball Coaches Association Community College Coach of the year in 2010. In 2012, the BMCC volleyball team would go onto win the Oregon Sports Team of the Year award as well as the NWAC east region title and NWAC conference title.
Jerry Mosby - Coach
Mosby spent 24 years (1963-1987) as the head basketball coach, 23 years as the athletic director and led the Timberwolves to five league championships. Blue Mountain won the Oregon Community College Athletic Association titles in 1966, 70’, and 73’ with a third place finish in 1967 and 1970 at the National Junior College Athletic Association Region tournament. The 1969 squad finished undefeated winning 18 straight games in the then 12 team league, of which this has never been duplicated in the OCCAA. His career record at BMCC is 381 wins and 243 losses. He was inducted into the NWAC hall of fame as an individual in 1988 as the inaugural member of the hall of fame and again in 1989 when the 1969-70 team was inducted as well. Mosby coached baseball for 11 years, golf for 8 years, track and field for 10 years. In 2007, BMCC honored Mosby with his contributions to BMCC by naming the basketball and volleyball court after him.
Robyn Schirmer - Volleyball
Robyn Schirmer is a 2 time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American being named to the second team in 2010 and being named to the first team in 2012. In 2010, Robyn was a member of the first team all NWAC and in 2012, was named the NWAC baden volleyball player of the year while at BMCC. A dominant and key player for the BMCC championship teams in 2010 and 2012. She would go on to play at Lewis and Clark State College and was named to the Frontier Conference All-Academic team in 2015.
