PENDLETON, Ore. - Your Blue Mountain Timberwolves Baseball team split both series this weekend. The first series was against the Clark College Penguins (7-7). The second series of the weekend was against the Walla Walla Warriors (2-1).

BMCC started the doubleheader with a 14-9 win in the first game but then fell short in the second game 6-2. Davis Mauzy, the sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, 1 walk, as well as a stolen base. Cameron Smith went 3 ⅔ with 5 hits allowed and 1 strikeout, earning the win in the first game.

Hunter Hollifield, the sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, went 2-4 in the second game of the doubleheader, where the Timberwolves would eventually fall 6-2. Zach Reynolds, the freshman from Bend, Oregon, got the start in the second game, where he pitched 4 scoreless innings along with 2 strikeouts.

Your Timberwolves were slated to start a series against Olympic College, but due to weather concerns, they were canceled. The Timberwolves quickly found themselves a doubleheader against the Warriors of Walla Walla.

The first game of the doubleheader against the Warriors was a hit parade, with 17 hits against the staff for Walla Walla. Davis Mauzy, Kaden Boyle, and Richie Hagen all recorded 3 hits off of 5 ABs. Richie Hagen had the highlight of the first game with his first home run of his season off of Tanner Martinez in the 8th inning. The pitching staff for your Timberwolves had a dominating game, striking out the Warriors 8 times, with Otho Savage, the sophomore from Twin Falls, Idaho, leading the way with 5 strikeouts of his own. Rocco Loftis, the freshman from Oregon City, Oregon, had an inning of work with 2 strikeouts and 1 hit allowed. Nathan Beath, the redshirt sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, closed out the last 2 innings, holding the Warriors scoreless, only allowing 2 hits, and picking up 1 strikeout himself.

The second game of the doubleheader was one to forget. Your Timberwolves lost the last game of the weekend 14-4 in 8 innings of play. Chance Oldham, the sophomore from Kennewick, Washington, and Kailen Larken, the sophomore from Las Vegas, Nevada, both had two hits in four ABs. The highlight of the day was Davis Mauzy having three stolen bases, which put him tied 5th in the NWAC for successful stolen bases (9).

Your Timberwolves next action is this Saturday, March 16th-March 17th, against Prairie Baseball Academy. The first game of the doubleheader is slated to start at 12 pm PST.
