The Preview: Fall Sports
PENDLETON, Ore. - After what will go down as one of the craziest most unusual years in history, BMCC athletics is excited to welcome back our fall sport athletes to their normal seasons of competition! Fall sports were delayed from starting in 2020 and competed in the spring of 2021. Nearly 60 fall sport athletes moved to Pendleton, OR and are registered for classes at Blue Mountain Community College in pursuit of their collegiate dreams. Men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball all began practices on August 2nd. Men's soccer and volleyball open their seasons on August 18th. Men's soccer on the road to Walla Walla University kicking off at 4pm, while the BMCC volleyball team hosts Walla Walla University starting at 6pm. The women's soccer team opens their season at the NWAC friendlies on August 25th and 26th.
Spectators
BMCC athletics is excited to welcome back our fans to the soccer field and McCrae Activity Center to cheer on their Timberwolves. With that, the safety and health of our athletes have always come first. All indoor home games will allow 50% fan capacity in the gym. All fans will be required to wear a mask while they are in the gym regardless of vaccination status and a symptom check will be done at the door.
The Breakdown
Volleyball - The BMCC volleyball team returns nine players from the spring 2021 season. Returning for the Timberwolves are Jenna Houseworth, Taylor Suko, Savannah Koga, Serina Haneberg, Chloe Vinson, Kenzie Williams, Jaycee Weathermon, Cloe Davis, and Audrey Synon. Eight new Timberwolves join the pack this fall as BMCC looks to add a sixth title to its successful program history. New to the Timberwolves are Mia Halcomb, Jaycee Jerome, Madelline McClain, Emma Barclay, Maysa Haws, Ahnica Shoemaker, Autumn Dagget, and Gwynn Razo. The Timberwolves volleyball team finished with a record of 7-6 in the conference last season, 8-7 overall, and finished fourth in the 2021 spring standings.
Men's Soccer - The BMCC men's soccer team returns thirteen players from its first-place finish in the 2021 spring season. Returning for the Timberwolves are Emilio Nunez, Sebastian Szweda Mittlestadt, Rogelio Ceja, Steven Rubio, Alan Contreras, Sergio Varela, Wyatt Erickson, Ezeuial Mendez, William Dominguez, Liam Coyle, Oswaldo Sosa, Erick Gomez, and Tomas Martinez. Twelve new Timberwolves look to make their mark on the defending East champions. Joining the wolves are Levi Pedaggi, Ily Perez, Coleman Solano, Oscar Arguello, Joshue Farias, Alexis Leal, Omar Benites, Kameron Murdock, Jesus Alvarez, Mac Bingham, Anthony Lemus, and Jairo Rios. The men's soccer team finished with a record of 6-1-3 and finished first in the East division play of the spring of 2021.
Women's Soccer - The BMCC women's soccer team returns ten players from its program-best fourth-place finish in the spring of 2021. Returning for the Timberwolves are Aeryn Elder, Hannah Beebe, Jessica Macias, Adriana Shoecraft, McKell Wilson, Kylie Baker, Amy Sandoval, Kaysha Sadovich, Ragan West, and Mikayla Le. Twelve new Timberwolves join the women's soccer team looking to make history. Joining the women's soccer team is Cinthya Diaz, Hayleigh Michael, Cecelia Aguilera, Brianna Perez, Faith Meine, Maralyne Pacheco, Marissa Perez-Morris, Kyla Hook, Isabela Monaco, Jessalee Wilks, Mikki Clark, and Kennedy Robertson. The Timberwolves finished with a record of 4-5, a program-best in the spring of 2021.
