Seven Timberwolves Sign Four Year LOI's

Seven Sign Four Year LOI's

 

PENDLETON, Ore. - The 2019-20 school year has brought a lot of firsts in the world of BMCC athletics. Some to name a few are the winningest seasons for men's and women's soccer, baseball coach Brad Baker earning his 100th career win, Brooke Wheeler, Dylan Grogan, and Dedi Seme scoring over 500 points during their careers as a member of the women's and men's basketball teams. Yet, this school year continues to bring even more special moments as six student-athletes from three sports have signed their four year letter of intents (LOI's) to continue on their academic and athletic careers once they graduate from BMCC in the spring. 

 

Baseball

Matt Johnson - A pitcher for the baseball team just signed his LOI to continue his athletic career at Bellevue University.

Kyle Starcher - An outfielder for the Timberwolves baseball team signed his LOI to continue his student-athlete career at Friends University.

Austin Shirley - An outfielder for the baseball team signed his letter of intent to continue playing and studying at the University of Jamestown.

 

Coach Baker had this to say about these three players, “Matt, Kyle, and Austin have been great members of the BMCC Baseball program and the college campus.  All three young men have excelled in the classroom and have excellent work ethics on the field and in the weight room.  These three individuals have all improved on the baseball field and have contributed to the success of the BMCC Baseball program.  They will all help their next schools on the field and will be model student-athletes at their universities.”

 

Volleyball

Mariah Moulton - An outside hitter for the volleyball team for the past two seasons, a 1st team all conference selection in 2018 and selected to the sophomore showcase in 2019, just signed her letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Eastern Oregon University.

 

"Mariah has been a strong leader in our program throughout the fall. She's one of those players that really puts 100% into everything she does and leads her team by example. Every lift, every practice, every game, Mariah gives it her all. I'm excited to see her continue to represent BMCC Volleyball, as she works hard and grows as a student-athlete at EOU!" said Coach Larson on Mariah.

 

Women's Soccer

Alex Anteau - A midfielder for the BMCC women's soccer team signed her LOI to continue her athletic career at Multnomah University.

Olivia Luna Castellanos - A midfielder for the women's soccer team signed her letter of intent to continue her studies and athletic career at Presentation College. 

 

 

"Alex and Olivia are two amazing members of the women's soccer team that saw its most successful season this past year. They have been incredible young ladies to coach and have demonstrated a tireless work ethic and have set the bar for the future of this program. To become the first two to sign to play college soccer at a four year program from BMCC is incredible and I am so proud of them. It has been an honor to coach them and watch them become amazing players. I know they will do amazing at their new schools" said Coach Hillmick.

 

Men's Soccer

Dalton Mauzay - A goalkeeper for the Timberwolves has signed his LOI to play for Eastern Oregon University in 2020.

 

Coach Shick had this to say about Dalton, "We are immensely proud of this young man. He came us humbled and ready for a new opportunity. He worked hard and earned a starting spot,while was named captain and continued to work and a got the recognition he deserved. Eastern is lucky to have a young man with his work ethic, his academic prowess, and his grit coming into their numbers. Good luck!"
