PENDLETON, Ore. - Avery Beatty and the Timberwolves continue their hot start to the season as they take down the Wenatchee Valley Knights on the road 75-62. Beatty led all scorers with 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Leanna Lepe continued her strong freshmen campaign with 20 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals, with Lexi Robertson adding 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Wolves were looking to continue their momentum as they came off their win over Yakima Valley and they did so while making a statement. Lepe got the Wolves on the board first as she was fouled and went to the line making both. Lepe would go 5-6 from the line during the game. The Wolves and Knights continued to battle back and forth for most of the first quarter until Lepe made the go ahead 3-point shot with 1:42 remaining in the 1st quarter and Taylor Bull (7pts, 11 reb, 4 ast) making the jumper to take the Wolves into the break with the lead 16-13. The Wolves would not release the lead they had made for the rest of the second quarter as they continued to build on it with Lepe opening the scoring with a made 3-pointer ten seconds into the second quarter. The Knights would not let go without a fight as they chipped away at the 8 point lead the Wolves had built as Aria Price (19pts, 6 reb) would lead the Knights to pull within 1 point before Josie Wilson would go 4-4 on the free throw line to take the Wolves to the locker room with the lead 32-29.

The second half would be all BMCC as Beatty would go to work making 9 her of 22 points in the third quarter and then scoring 8 in the fourth quarter and going perfect from the field to end the game. The Wolves would continue to build their lead with Lepe adding 7 points in the 3rd quarter as the Wolves would increase their lead as much as 15 at one point and taking the lead at the end of the third quarter 59-44. Beatty and Robertson would be the only Wolves to play every minute of the fourth quarter as they began to coast to victory and picking up win number two in east division play and moving to sole possession of 4th place in the division.

The Timberwolves move to 6-8 overall, 2-1 in east division play. The BMCC women's basketball team will return to the court on Saturday January 20th as they hit the road to take on Big Bend in Moses Lake, WA. The Wolves will return home to the MAC on January 24th as they host Spokane.
