PENDLETON, Ore. - In a game that saw 13 lead changes and was tied heading into the final period, the Blue Mountain Community College women's basketball team exploded for 23 points in the fourth quarter to secure a 76-65 victory over Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday afternoon at BMCC. The Timberwolves (1-3) relied heavily on their depth, as the bench unit outscored the Linn-Benton reserves by a commanding 34-7 margin.
Fourth Quarter Surge - The contest was deadlocked at 53-53 after three quarters of play. The Timberwolves found their rhythm when it mattered most, outscoring the Roadrunners 23-12 in the final frame to seal the win. The defense clamped down, holding Linn-Benton to just 21.7% shooting in the fourth quarter, while the Timberwolves converted on key possessions and free throws.
Top Performers - Hailey Taylor led the offensive charge for Blue Mountain, tallying a team-high 20 points, including four three-pointers. The Timberwolves received a massive spark off the bench from Ella Stewart and Jillian Herres. Stewart poured in 19 points, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, and added 7 rebounds. Herres contributed 13 points on efficient 5-of-8 shooting. On the glass, Taimane Tutogi was a force, pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with her 8 points, helping BMCC control the paint.
