Athletics Mission Statement

The goal of the Blue Mountain Community College Athletic Department is to provide the best opportunities for the development of student-athletes to excel in teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and academic achievement. The Department seeks to provide an equitable, diverse, and competitive intercollegiate an athletic program that is properly administered, educationally sound, and a resource for enhancing community on campus. Our purpose is to provide administrative and coaching support, equity, academic excellence, character and leadership development, and community service.

Athletic Trainer Mission Statement

The Blue Mountain Community College Athletic Training department is dedicated to providing athletic training services through injury prevention strategies and overall health and wellness promotion.  Support for student-athletes is provided through certified athletic trainers trained and educated in prevention, recognition, rehabilitation, and emergency management of athletic injuries. The utilization of an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach creates an environment for optimum, timely, and effective health services for student-athletes.

 

The Blue Mountain Athletic Training department is located in the McCrae Activity Center on the Pendleton, OR campus.

 

Athletic training room hours vary from week to week. Hours will be posted outside of the athletic training room on a weekly basis.

 

 

 

 

Forms

ALL NEW STUDENT-ATHLETES must complete the new student-athlete packet prior to student-athlete orientation. Pre-participation physical exams must be completed by a physician within 6 months of the first date of participation in the intercollegiate sport. The physician must provide clearance and sign this form. Delayed completion of these requirements will delay your ability to participate in any team activities.

RETURNING STUDENT-ATHLETES must complete the medical history update. health insurance form, and a physical copy of the student-athletes insurance must be presented to the athletic trainer at student-athlete orientation.
