Larson Becomes New Volleyball Coach

PENDLETON, Ore. - Blue Mountain Community College has hired Ceanna Larson as the new head volleyball coach for the Timberwolves. Larson began her new role this week, and will be on- and off-campus over the next several months as she transitions full-time to Pendleton from Madison, South Dakota.

Since August 2016, Larson has worked as the assistant varsity and head JV coach and recruitment coordinator for the Dakota State University volleyball program.

Larson is a former competitive student-athlete for Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan. (NJCAA, Division 1), and a 10-year club volleyball coach for men’s and women’s teams. In addition, she brings with her valuable experience as a club director/coordinator and a former high school volleyball program director. Larson also is the co-founder of Madison JO club program at Dakota State University.

“Ceanna’s passion, organization and track record as a strong leader make her the perfect fit for the head coach of BMCC’s women’s volleyball program,” said Dawn DiFuria McClendon, Director of Athletics, Outreach & Student Life. “She brings strong success in recruitment and implementing competitive practices with a focus on physical development.”

Larson replaces Jessica Humphreys, who stepped down after four years in January in order to have more time with her family.

We are excited to welcome Coach Larson to the Timberwolves family!
