Cook and Osterhout earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete Awards

PENDLETON, Ore. – Two Blue Mountain Community College sophomore softball players have been named All-American Scholar-Athlete recipients by the National Fastpitch Association for the 2019 season. Augestina Cook, a P/Inf from Baker City, OR, and Carlyn Osterhout, a catcher from Declo, Idaho, received the honor due to receiving over a 3.5 GPA for the 2018-19 school year.

“I’m proud of the work these two have put in, and they are very deserving of this award,” said BMCC Head Softball Coach Steve Richards. “They are quiet leaders on the team who demonstrate hard work and organization in all aspects of their lives. They are true student-athletes.”

BMCC softball players arrived on campus earlier this month to begin practice for the 2019-20 season, and their first fall ball game is set for Sept. 28.
